Can your research be patent protected?
As a university researcher you have almost certainly created new knowledge … but have you also invented something that’s patentable? For a patent to be granted, the invention must pass the hurdles of “Novelty” and “Inventive Step”.

This seminar will utilise real-life case studies drawn from Engineering and Physical Sciences to illustrate the concepts of novelty and inventive step. The intention is to provide a clearer understanding of these concepts and thus help you understand if your research outcomes are patentable.

There will be sufficient time for Q&A as well as opportunity to provide opinion on individual situations.
